Food History Presentations
Those reports on budae jiggae, kimchi, tteokbokki, and samgyetang made my mouth water. Never tried the Army base stew (or Spam), so might have to seek that out. What is the rest of the class looking forward to tasting?

Ethnic Food & Culture Celebration
If you visited the ethnic food and culture celebration in Marion Center today - tell us about it. Taste anything new? Hey, did you notice the Croatian flag in the left-hand corner? The country of my grandparents!
Food Packaging and Design
Professor Winter gave an interesting talk about food packaging and design that helps us realize our perception of food qualities comes partly from the design of the package - its color, type, and materials. This was my favorite image - the cute melons that he found in Korean convenience store. I know that I'll pay more attention to the food packaging when we go to Seoul.

Couldn't Wait
We spent so much time in our first class talking about - and looking at tasty Korean dishes - that video of Korean BBQ wrapped in lettuce made me so hungry. Sooo... a trip to Chosun BBQ was in order. Delicious - Ma se soyo

First Class Tonight - Language Learning
In a few hours we'll meet with the students who'll be traveling with us to South Korea in May. As we prepare for the trip, the students will be learning a little bit about the Koran language. Here's a look at the simple vowels and consonants in Hangul. Can't wait to hear the students speak some Korean!
