Looking forward to traveling with this group

Wow - we have an awesome group. Everyone is so open to exploring and trying new things. I think we'll have a wonderful time together. Just booked some great food tours for us - BBQ, Korean pancakes and patbingsu on our first full day in Korea for our night food tour - we'll be eating our way through the university district.

First night of class

Trying some Korean snacks - I think I like the savory snacks best - especially the shrimp one, but I also like the corn snack that tastes like Bugles, but less salty.

Korean restaurant Sobahn

Tasty food tonight. We had a selection of Korean dishes - veggie pancake, spicy rice cakes, spicy chicken and vegetables, bulgogi - a mariated beef, and dol sot bibipbap - a hot bowl of rice and veggies. Also, the traditional Korean side dishes (bancheon).  Everyone had lots to try. What a great group of students we have this semester - definitely open to trying new foods.

Waiting for the food

After veggie sambusa appetizers, waiting for the main course.

First night

Our first food culture to explore is Ethiopian. The bread, made from a grain called teff, is "injera." Very tasty. We tasted two kinds - one made with teff and wheat flour, the other with teff. Very interesting to compare the two breads. There were two meat dishes - one chicken and one beef - and three veggie dishes - cabbage/potato/carrot; miser watt(lentils); and comen (collards) Yummy
