We had an opportunity to visit and animation exhibit at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza. It was an amazing exhibit. Although it was about a British animation team it reminds us that we learned in class how much animation for American television is done in Korea. So there is a great interest in animation here.
It was crazy to see things in person that I had watched on screens for years. I loved all of the claymation sets and materials. They had so much detail. I definitely didn't appreciate the amount of detail when I was a kid, but I can appreciate the time and energy of claymation now. Who knew this exhibit was in South Korea?!
ReplyDeleteMy appreciation for claymation definitely went up. Im glad this exhibit timed up with our trip!
DeleteI grew up watching Wallace and Gromit, so to see the process and history behind the studio was awesome. I was surprised how many films I didn’t recognize out of Aardman Animations. My favorite part of the exhibition was seeing the sets and how detailed they were.
ReplyDeleteSuch tiny details! Especially the dump set.
DeleteChicken Run scared the poop out of me as a child. I felt proud overcoming my childhood fears haha. The exhibit was very well done. I specifically loved seeing the huge ship at the end.
