This was my favorite meal, even though it practically burnt my lips off. I've never had anything quite like this spice before. I loved how they cooked it in front of us at our table and added in ramen, something we are totally used to as poor college students. This was also the first time we got to experience soju! The grapefruit flavor was definitely the best. Ive never casually taken shots of alcohol with any dinner of mine. A huge cultural difference definitely took place my first night there.
It was a great first meal. The food was fantastic. The unique combinations of the meat, vegetables, ramen and spices made it a very memorable dish. Trying soju for the first time was a cool experience. It was a lot better than I was expecting. Although my favorite is the plain/fresh soju, the grapefruit was good. The atmosphere around the restaurant and being exhausted from the flight definitely helped make this one of my favorite meals in Korea.
The first night was so exciting! I was the yougest at our table so I attempted to cook and serve the soju. I truly enjoyed the food, at first it caught me off guard how spicy it was. I thought it was interesting where the napkins and chopsticks were placed! It was a great atmosphere!
We talked a lot about the youngest person cooking and pouring drinks in class but it was intersting to get to experience everything in person for the first time! I also had a good time trying to figure out proper etiquette for soju pouring and drinking.
Oh man, this was such a good start to the trip. The food was delicious and so satisfyingly spicy. Plus we were introduced to grapefruit soju which I'm pretty sure was everyone's favorite. Despite the look on my face in the picture I had a lot of fun at this meal!
This was a great way to start off the trip! this one is definitely in one of my top 5 meals that we had in Korea! I also really enjoyed the grapefruit soju!
What a great start to everything! This was as well one of my favorite meals. I could not believe how quickly I was ready to start our adventure after spending so many hours on the plane getting there.

ReplyDeleteThe grapefruit soju was fantastic. Having a shot of alcohol is definitely something you don’t see everyday in the states!

ReplyDeleteI also loved how they have call buttons on the table. Indeed, being super hungry did make the food that much better!
DeleteI agree! I love the call button on the table too, its one of the things I miss about Korea and I wish the states would get on board with!
