Night food tour at On'go Food Communications

The food tour group run by the famous food blogger Daniel Gray - gave us a night food tour of Seoul - three restaurants - here's Kelsey and Cecilia enjoying the first stop - BBQ - very tasty.  This restaurant had a special sauce that was nicely spicy and lots of side dishes.  After grilling at the table, you wrap your meat with whatever sauces and sidedishes in a lettuce leaf and pop it into your mouth. Below, Erin is helping cook the spicy seafood ricecake dish in a big bowl. Our guide Taesong was really wonderful - good luck to him as he moves to Ethiopia for a year of service.

  1. The night food tour was one of my favorites. It was delicious! I was in food heaven going to three different places in one night! The food was amazing and so was the drinks. ;-)
With each meal you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. It was such a nice change from the Americanized food back home.

  2. One of my favorite meals of the trip was the BBQ it was delicious. Being able to cook our own food in front of us was different than what we are used to in the U.S. I thought that part was pretty fun. But I also really enjoyed all of the food on the night tour. The egg pancake was very good, it was just like an omelet. What I am going to miss the most about Seoul is the rice cakes. Those were really good, especially if they are spicy.

  3. I believe the night tour was indeed the most authentic Korean food by looking at all those local Koreans around us. Most of the city has two faces to show to people and visitors usually only get to see one side of it. I think we saw the other side this time. No matter the toilet paper napkin or the plastic bench and middle-aged drunk Korean, all of this are telling us this is what Korean night life really is.
